A Business Computing degree is designed with the goal of advancing your career in mind. You will study the basics of Business, such as management marketing, accounting and marketing. This will provide you with the skills and understanding to evaluate a business user’s information needs and design and implement suitable computer systems.
You will learn about the fundamental aspects of computing, such as data analysis and software development. But, you will also learn about important business areas such as consulting, management and IT operations, exploring how digital technology is changing businesses. You will also gain broader abilities that employers seek in IT professionals such as leadership and teamwork.
We have strong relationships with industry. You will be working on live briefs, and get the chance to do a year of placement. You will learn how modern businesses utilize IT and have the opportunity to develop your own solutions to real-world issues.
Many graduates are employed in roles which require a mix of business and IT skills, like software developers or project managers. Others work in a business-user-oriented sector like banks and insurance companies. They can also use their skills in IT and vocational to establish their own business.
